An immersive glamping experience at Big Inja Farming, Midrand
At Big Inja Farming, we believe that nature isn’t something you visit — it’s something you return to.
Fire Camp was created from this belief. Not as another accommodation option. Not as a trendy glamping concept. But as a space for people to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover what it feels like to be fully human again.
Inspired by the work of physician and thought leader Zach Bush, who speaks about the deep interdependence between human health, soil health, and community, Fire Camp is built as a living expression of that philosophy. In a world accelerating beyond our ability to keep pace, we wanted to create a sanctuary where time moves differently — where flame, conversation, and fresh air reset the system.
Fire Camp is our invitation to step out of the blur and back into presence.

WHY WE BUILT FIRE CAMP
Something is shifting in the world.
People are overwhelmed. People are searching for meaning. People are craving experiences that feel grounding, real, and unmediated by screens.
Emerging trends reflect this collective yearning:
The Downshifter Movement
A growing number of people are choosing to step away from high-pressure lifestyles — simplifying, slowing down, and returning to what feels authentic.
The Great Unplugging (Predicted 2026)
A cultural moment where more people intentionally disconnect from technology to reclaim real, human experiences. Time outdoors. Time with each other. Time with themselves.
Fire Camp was built as a doorway into this shift — a comfortable, beautiful, elemental place to explore a slower way of being.

COMFORT WITH INTENTION — HOW FIRE POWERS THE CAMP
Fire Camp is not about roughing it. It’s about intentional comfort — comfort that invites participation, slows the pace, and awakens the senses.
All the luxuries of glamping are here:
plush beds
high-quality linen
lantern-lit pathways
a stunning outdoor kitchen
hot showers beneath open sky
But every one of these comforts is powered by fire, not switches.
A Donkey Boiler for Hot Showers
Water is heated by wood — slowly, intentionally. Showering becomes a ritual, not a rush.
Rocket Stoves in the Outdoor Kitchen
Meals are prepared over flame. Kettles whistle over wood. Every cup of coffee carries a hint of smoke and ceremony.
A Central Boma — the Heart of the Camp
This is where everything happens: story, cooking, connection, reflection, laughter, silence.
Chef Francis Mallmann speaks of fire as a language — one that demands patience, invites presence, and rewards those willing to slow down. Fire Camp was built in that spirit. Flame is not just a heat source — it is the teacher, the anchor, the catalyst for human connection.

SLEEPS 8 — DESIGNED FOR MULTIPLE TYPES OF GROUPS
Fire Camp accommodates up to eight guests across three thoughtfully designed spaces:
Cabin-style tent with two bunk beds (Sleeps 4) - Perfect for kids, teens, or a shared group of friends.
Two luxury Cabins wrapped in canvas with queen beds (Sleeps 2 each). Comfort, privacy, and serenity within nature.
This layout makes Fire Camp ideal for a wide variety of bookings:
Two families of four
Parents relaxing in the queen tents while the kids take over the bunk cabin — barefoot, wild, making memories around the fire.
A men’s brotherhood or leadership group
A space for honest conversation, reflection, shared cooking, and reconnecting with purpose.
Women’s gatherings + circles
Deep rest, shared meals, sunrise chats, and intentional connection.
Yoga, meditation or breathwork micro-retreats
No long travel required — stillness and nature are right here on the doorstep.
Creative teams and founders
A space to reset, unplug, think clearly, and reconnect as humans before colleagues.
Whoever arrives at Fire Camp leaves different — softer, clearer, more connected.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE GATHER AROUND FIRE
When flame becomes the evening’s entertainment — instead of screens — something ancient happens:
Voices soften. Stress melts. Silences feel natural. Stories rise. People really see each other again.
We’ve watched strangers become family. Parents reconnect with children. Friend groups find depth they didn’t know they were missing. And individuals rediscover parts of themselves that were buried under schedules and notifications.
Fire Camp isn’t simply a place to stay. It is a place to arrive.
A PORTAL INTO THE LIFE WE’RE ALL CRAVING
Fire Camp represents a future where:
slowness is valued
nature is medicine
connection is the real luxury
comfort doesn’t require convenience
technology takes a back seat
flame brings us together
It is a soft introduction to the downshifted, unplugged, intentional life so many are longing for.
A place where you can breathe again. A place where you can remember again. A place where the Earth feels close — and you feel human.

AN INVITATION TO RECONNECT
Come gather around flame. Cook over wood. Shower under open sky. Sleep deeply in canvas and cotton. Speak honestly. Laugh loudly. Be silent comfortably. Look at the stars. Wake to birds. Remember what matters.
Fire Camp is here to restore you. To slow you down. To reconnect you with yourself, your people, and the Earth.
Your fire is waiting. Come light it.
